Artist – XR Developer – Meta-architect

Ersin Bactisa is a fully licensed architect. After almost 3 years of practice in the field, following a road accident that put his professional activity on hold, he decided to change his life's course to other activities, which provoke a different kind of creative thinking. With an affinity for digital painting and new technology, Ersin is driving his exploration towards creating interactive experiences with art. The portraits he creates graphically express metaphors for the deepest and most overwhelming human thoughts or feelings. The added digital layering is meant to augment the ideas behind the paintings and not just be a technological demonstration.

Web3, NFTs, metaverse are keywords for the revolution that is laying its foundations right now. Ersin is taking an active part in this revolution. He is part of the team behind the Crypto Heads Society NFT collection, sells NFTs on platform and works for Voxel Architects, a company whose main occupation is architecture for the metaverse.

In the world we live in, we either adapt to change or a line will deepen between those who move forward and those who stay put. In the context of the events of the last few years, collective and individual psychology suffers anyway, and technology presses harder.

I started to work with Voxel Architects on March 15th, 2022, on a 3d modeler position. Since then, I have also taken on programming tasks, and later leadership.

Due to large interests in art and technology, I was always attracted to exploring software that allows me to create, to innovate. Due to personal events in my life regarding health, I had the opportunity to take a break from architecture to fully explore these interests. I’m extending my area of work from creating 2D paintings to creating 3D augmented reality and virtual reality experiences that involve interactivity between user – art – real – virtual.

  • Synopsis: This app is programmed to recognize the painting and randomly displays messages in the augmented reality model every 10 seconds from an over 500 messages database

  • Synopsis: This app recognizez 7 different paintings and displays 3d interactable models. The arts transfoms itself and tells a story. This project was divided into two separate projects. One will turn into a physical exhibition with Instagram AR filters, while the other will turn into an AR escape-room type of game for android devices.

  • Activity: Developed Story of Harap-Alb – a text based game with Flash animations. The game was developed in Borland C++. The animations were not done by me.

  • Activity: Developed Military technology in World War II – Virtual museum – a 3d museum made in DX Studio game engine and Visual Basic 6, for desktop. The software was using wireless Wii controllers and pre-programmed voice commands for input. It was using face scanning algorithm for logging in. It was the same period when Kinect came on market for Xbox and it was achieving these types of interactivity with the users.

Art exhibitions and business management

Developed website in 2021 and made it public in january 2022. This is my art brand. I make 2D digital paintings that I print on canvas as unique pieces (Only one canvas print is produced for each work). I make certificates of authenticity for these works. I print multiple copies in limited series, on cotton paper, on smaller sizes. I made the design for the looks of the website and I manage all the website activity.
