Art year in review

Here I will talk about the exhibitions I have attended this year. I owe thanks to several people who made these experiences possible. On the podium is Iulia Niculae, the number one supporter of my creative work and the person who sent me links to gallery's open-calls. Then comes my family, with a special mention for Nuray, who came with me to exhibitions when possible. I will also mention here Laurențiu Stanciu. He told me to participate in the Mirinda Creative Hacks. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

In order, these are the exhibitions:

  • ArtNumber23, online group exhibition, 15.12.2020 - 05.01.2021, 3 works - link
  • Noblesse group, group exhibition Fusion Arts, 11.06.2021 - 13.06.2021, 3 works - link
  • Creative New World by Mirinda Romania, September 2021, one work - link
  • Blue Biennale, 17.10.2021 - 20.11.2021, one work - link
  • Rome International Art Fair by ITSLIQUID Group, 19.11.2021-03.12.2021, one work – link

ArtNumber23 is a London-based collective run by artists and creatives from London and Athens. ArtNumber23 organised a group exhibition, which took place in a virtual environment only. I had 3 paintings on display, in the first of 3 rooms.

The next exhibition was in Bucharest, at the Noblesse Palace. The event lasted three days and was called Fusion Arts 2021. The exhibiting artists produced together a canvas painting over the three days, which was later auctioned.

In August I was selected after a small competition to participate in a workshop organized by Mirinda Romania. The workshop lasted 2 days. There I interacted with several creative people in the digital field. One of the mentors of the workshop, Vlad Dumitrescu, aka Illustrescu, guided us through some drawing and brainstorming sessions, to create some works starting from a common point: the portal. Some of the works made by the participants were exhibited somewhere on Calea Victoriei, but not anyway, but on a huge LED screen. More information about the works could be read on the tablets present at the venue. After the exhibition, the works were uploaded to an NFT website.

I was also invited to take part in an interview on Creative Talks, on Youtube. It was my first time in front of the cameras like that and all I want to add is that I want more.

Then came the Blue Biennale in Brasov. This event brought together almost 400 artists, around 1000 works, in more than 20 buildings. One had my signature. The theme of this exhibition was Essentia. I have therefore chosen to expose the painting Two needles, which it is about the essential choices in life. I went to visit this exhibition with Nuray. It took us a whole day to visit almost all the buildings where the works were displayed.

In the meantime, I was accepted to participate in an exhibition in Rome. It's the first exhibition outside the country that I've participated in. The section I applied for is called Mixing Identities, which explores the hidden parts of our identities. So my painting was a good fit, it is about the tension that is created in a human being when they feel something overwhelming coming up in their life.

I was surprised that the exhibition was also visited by a group of Romanians. I had met them the day before while visiting a castle and told them about the exhibition.

What I liked most about these experiences was that I met some really nice people and chatted with them. And not just about paintings or art. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.
